To Be Or Not To Be

I looked at my Rolex as I fastened my seat belt.

I had just forty minutes to save an innocent from a criminal punishment.

My father never trusted my driving skills. But I had no time to think.

As I reached the end of the road, my right foot had pushed the brakes too hard to prevent a collision of my body with the steering. My instincts wanted me to rethink.

This was my last chance.

“To be or not to be”…

I closed my eyes.

The next moment, my car had turned right. It was indeed “Right”.

I had decided “To be”…to be truthful and honest.

I was headed to surrender in front of the jury for accidentally killing a child.

What a solid punch in the last line! And here I thought my story was good. Lol. Proves beyond doubt that sometimes less is more. Loved the story, V! Awesome interpretation and so wonderfully narrated. The last line ties up the whole story so beautifully.
