Sabr Shukr Sukoon –
The Essence of Gurbani
Sabr, Shukr and Sukoon are the essence of Gurbani. Each word in Gurbani brings us closer to the divine within us.
This book is a humble endeavour to convey the message of embracing the virtues of patience, acceptance, humility, gratitude, and trust in God through the teachings of Gurbani, sharing my own experience of how it has strengthened my life over the years.
Each chapter explains selected verses of Gurbani, their meanings, and the significance of embodying these teachings in our daily lives.
Gurbani is a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and insight. When we follow its teachings by truly understanding the deeper implications of its verses, we can unravel the complex puzzle of life with grace and ease.
May Waheguru bless you with Sabr, Shukr and Sukoon!
The Gift of Self
An assortment of verses that reflect my own insights as I embrace spirituality to understand the purpose and meaning of life, my connection with the Universe, and what truly is “self.” Each poem carries a synopsis of the introspection behind it — on trust in the present moment, acceptance, transformation, self-belief and gratitude.
The book is divided into six parts: Path to Enlightenment, Quest for Self, Acceptance, Awakening, Insights, and Divinity.
“Some journeys take us around the world. The most important one takes us within.”
The Gift of Self is a heartfelt collection of poems and reflections born from a profound journey of self-discovery, spirituality, and inner awakening. Blending soulful poetry with thoughtful personal reflections, this book invites readers to pause, look inward, and reconnect with the wisdom that already resides within them.
Through deeply introspective verses, the author gently explores life’s most meaningful questions:
- Who are we beyond our roles and identities?
- What is our connection to the Universe?
- What is the true nature of the self?
Each poem captures a moment of insight, while the accompanying reflection reveals the contemplation and life experiences that inspired it. Together, they create a transformative reading experience that nurtures reflection, healing, acceptance, and personal growth.
Rooted in faith, presence, and the intelligence of the Universe, The Gift of Self explores timeless themes of self-belief, gratitude, transformation, inner peace, and spiritual evolution. Every page offers an opportunity to slow down, embrace the present moment, and discover a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
The collection is thoughtfully organized into six inspiring sections:
- Path to Enlightenment
- Quest for Self
- Awakening
- Insights
- Acceptance
- Divinity
Whether you are seeking clarity in uncertain times, comfort during life’s challenges, inspiration for your spiritual journey, or simply a quiet space for reflection, The Gift of Self will become a trusted companion that you can return to again and again.

Roads –
A Journey with Verses
I published my poetry book ‘Roads- A Journey with Verses’ with my co-author, Smitha Vishwanath, in 2019.
“Roads” is a poetic rendezvous that takes the reader on a panoramic journey, making one pause, ponder and celebrate life. The book is a light, alluring read that instantly strikes a chord and elevates one’s spirits. A trove of 60 poems, it is quilled with beads of nine virtues: Courage, Wisdom, Serenity, Love, Hope, Strength, Joy, Compassion and Gratitude. The verses encapsulate life’s ebbs and flows while prompting the reader to enjoy its simple pleasures.
“Roads” is a book that you would want to keep on your bedside, for a quiet read before retiring for the night or for the morning wisdom to seize the day. With poems revolving around emotions that each of us experiences, “Roads” very easily develops a personal connect with the reader that is defiantly refreshing.
“Roads” is a journey with verses. Take it on yours.
