Poem: I wish there were a world

by | Aug 22, 2017 | Poetry | 16 comments

I wish there were a world

where I wasn’t a prisoner of time

I wish I could hook the ocean

whose waves bid to force me drown

I wish I could cage the moments

and held them hostage of mine

I wish I could silence the sounds

that birth and thrust all wounds

I wish I could bottle up the air

that strew my woes around

I wish I could douse the fire

that burnt my strength down

I wish I could eclipse the sun

and feel the power rebound

I wish I could freeze the time

so happiness wouldn’t be a crime!
