The prompt at ALS for Day 3 is as below:

The World Outside My Window

Everyone sees the world differently. When we are happy, the world outside appears full of glee, but when we are trapped in sadness or pain, we perceive the outside world as unjust, uncertain or even unsafe. Today, write a poem to paint a picture of the world as you see it.

Here’s a brief of what I see through my window. The picture has been clicked by me from my window.

Poem: My Window of Liberation

The window of my room is my gateway to the world,

When the four walls threaten to cage me like a cell,

When claustrophobia is just set to engulf,

The window of my room promises me freedom,

It shows me glimpses of  God’s creation

When my dreary soul has given up on itself,

When the humdrum of life begins to play havoc,

When my mind is trapped in ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’,

The window of my room offers hope and joy,

It shows me the expanse of the colourful sky

When darkness is scowling to instil some fear,

When agony becomes too much to bear,

When clouds of ambivalence hover on my room,

The window of my room shows me light,

It shows me star-studded, moonlit sky

When my own little world seems to have paused,

When my mind prompts that I’ve hit a roadblock,

When my feet refuse to move forward or back,

The window of my room shows me the path,

It shows me the world that keeps moving on

The window of my room is my place of rejuvenation,

My solace, my assurance, my window of liberation!
