ALS NaPoWriMo Day 10: What does home mean to you? Write a poem ruminating on it as a concept or a physical space.
Poem: I Am Finally Home
A place of safety, comfort and love
A space that allows me to be
A brick-walled area that I share with my loved ones
The place I call my HOME
Porcelain mugs, pieces of art
Books, clothes, toys, and screens
Furniture, food, décor and design
Essentials, non-essentials and tools of the kitchen
My home is filled with loving memories
Every corner reflects a part of us or me
Every object has an enticing story behind it
My home isn’t just a space–it’s a profound feeling
I turned my gaze from outside to within
Gently closing my eyes, I focused on the inside
A place that is my sanctuary, away from the din
An ocean of tranquillity, I felt therein
My worries disappeared; my fears suddenly vanished
A profound state of stillness allured me within
A flow of optimism sanctified my soul
As I inhaled the energy oozing from the source
A strong, true connection, I felt with it
A state of Zen, with innate balance
A clarity that washed away the dust of living
Is this what it feels like, to be complete?
A place where desire had no edges
A place that lacked the concept of laws or flaws
A place where ‘I’ had no meaning
With focus and intent, I experienced the bliss
The Universe was just an extension of me
I was finally at home, within the Universe–
The Universe that was always obscured within me!
