Limerick: Rain

by | Jul 12, 2016 | Poetry | 6 comments

This post is in response to Limerick Challenge Week 28 hosted by @mindandlifematters. The prompt for this week’s challenge is ‘Rain’ and the limerick should include the word ‘Rain’ in either Line 1, 2 or 5. So, here’s my attempt at it.

Thunderous clouds bellowing like drumbeat,

The hissing and crackle of lightning as a feat,

The aroma of soil,

Silenced the turmoil,

Rain was embraced to conquest the heat!
