ALS NaPoWriMo Day 16: Everything has a beginning and an end. Whatever we see or feel around us began at some point, just like this NaPoWriMo that began on April 1st 🙂
Think or explore the origin of anything: an object, an idea, a philosophy, a feeling, or a relationship. How did it all begin? Let your poem take us through that journey.
Write a poem about the origin of something. It could be some object in your house, some relationship, some concept or anything else.
Poem: Slow Down
Stillness…
Quiet…
Silence…
Is it regression?
What’s the inception point of this notion?
The gap between a thought and commotion
The space that fosters ingenuity and intuition
The stillness that induces true connection
The quiet that stimulates balance and reflection
Haven’t we swept it away in haste?
Are these moments labelled as dead?
Or
Are they the ones most intuitively alive?
Opening the doors of possibilities and choice
while we drown in the sea of worldly turmoil
A fleeting moment between two action points
Silence between the clamouring voices
A pause to listen to the rhythm inside
A quiet that deepens every time
How did we lose it to the void of noise?
An anchor we need–
a focal point
A space that restores our unique rhythm–
the rhythm of pace to engage in the noise
Then why refrain from silence–the quiet?
We need the quiet
To practice the stillness
To embrace the silence
To shift our perspective
To subdue the noise
Stillness…
Quiet…
Silence…
Our anchor
Our focal point
