Quadrille: The Bliss of Dawn

by | Nov 7, 2017 | Poetry | 32 comments

It is week 44 of Quadrille at dVerse and De is hosting the Quadrille today with prompt word “kick”. So, 44 weeks and 44 prompts for 44 worded Quadrille!

I ‘ve written the quadrille using all the 44 words:

kick, creak, hope, spice, freebliss, dreamfear, flicker, pepperdance, bubble, grin, lull, melt, shimmer, twist, skip, green, breeze, spill, rose, journey, jar, leaves, open, shadow, cloud, spark, cue, breath, scar, curl, whisper, dawn, ghost, giggle, drizzle, still, echo, sound, storm, spring, balloon

Storm sound whispers,

clouds bubble,

dance,

drizzle.

Green leaves curl,

roses shimmer.

Spring still echoes,

breeze sparks cue,

spills spice jar,

pepper lulls journey.

Dream twists.

Scars open,

breath skips,

ballooned shadows giggle,

ghosts grin.

Dawn kicks hope

fear melts,

flickers,

creaks free.

Bliss.

Ohhhhhh…..I wish you could hear my giant audible sigh as I finished reading your wonderful post!!!! I’ve been so enwrapped in my film noir series….emphasis on “noir” that this is a breath of fresh air! Using all the words masterfully, to a postive mood and effect. And not a hyphenated word or compound word in sight. BRILLIANT! I LOVE it! I’m a Pollyanna kind of person so when you shifted all these words toward bliss…….smiling I am. FABULOUS!

Very nicely done! I love the pace of your quadrille, the way you’ve stretched it out so that it seems much longer than 44 words! It’s full of sound and movement.
