Tanka: Flowers

by | Apr 6, 2017 | Poetry | 7 comments

efflorescence spell

flowers rejoice gift of spring

never wailing fall

preaching to live in moment

surging ahead laugh and sing

This post is in response to Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge #28.  The challenge is to use words “Laugh” and “Cry” or their synonyms in a haiku, tanka or haibun. I have written a Tanka using  “laugh” and “wail”. The poem is also a submission towards sixth day of NaPoWriMo and in line with our monthly theme “Optimism”.
