Poem: Maximum or Balanced?

 

 

In a world fascinated with maximality

I am slowing down with time

 

Where ostentation is highlighted

I prefer seclusion and ‘me’ time

 

Where messaging is the prime form of expression

I revel in connection and conversation

 

Where opinions and validation drive the relations

I value my self-worth in the words I read and write

 

Where the law of maximum is the only satisfaction

Creativity and deep work are my source of contentment

 

The world of maximum is a bit too much for me

I choose balance and my peace of mind
